Aurora Connoisseur Selection
Aurora has come up with a concept that is one part learning kit and one part cigar enjoyment…and an excuse to smoke four cigars in one sitting.
Its new 1495 Series Connoisseur Selection comprises four different cigars with the same filler and binder -- which was used for the 1495 cigars in Aurora's regular line -- but each has a different wrapper.
"People for many years have been asking me what the impact of the wrapper is on a cigar's flavor," said Jose Blanco, La Aurora director of sales. "People can smoke all of these cigars and see for themselves. You be the judge, how much difference does a wrapper make?"
Each cigar is packaged in boxes of 100 and is also sold by the stick. They each sport the familiar 1495 band and a secondary band underneath that delineates the origin of the wrapper. The wrappers are from Cameroon, Connecticut, Ecuador and Brazil. The binder is from the Dominican Republic and the filler is a mix of Peruvian, Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos.
The cigar will come in one size, a 5 by 50 inch robusto, and be on retailer shelves at the end of September with a suggested retail price of $8 per stick.
