City approves Brighton wine bar - cigar lounge
By July or August, Brighton area residents should have a new place to sip wine, puff on cigars and munch on cheese next to a roaring fire.
Last night, the Brighton City Council approved site plans for Leaf, Barley & Vine in the former La Bella Vita shop at 139 E. Grand River Ave.
"We're going to start moving pretty quickly," owner Greg Strouse said.
He's hoping to start construction on a 1,500 square foot outdoor patio as soon as possible would like to open in July or August. Strouse said he's still waiting on the liquor license.
The shop would sell glasses of beer, wine and mixed drinks, feature a cigar lounge and walk-in humidor, and have coffee, desserts and light appetizers.
The outdoor patio would have seating for 46 people and a fire pit.
