Harvest in Famous Cuban Tobacco Plantations Ends
Pinar del Río, Cuba, May 7 (Prensa Latina) Known as the land of the best tobacco, this Cuban province concluded the stage of leaf collection, the final phase of farming in the famous plantations of Vueltabajo.
The samples show a higher quality than that achieved in the previous harvest, told to Prensa Latina Enrique Cruz, director of the sector in the territory, which represents almost 70 percent of all domestic tobacco production.
According to Cruz, in municipalities with a long tradition as San Juan y Martinez and San Luis, optimal results are seen due to the amount and excellence of the harvest.
Vueltabajo, as the area was known formerly, provides most of the layers used to cover the coveted Habano cigars.
